Sam Harnois is a Spanish and digital arts educator based in Los Angeles, California. Previously an Extras Casting Director, Sam left the film industry in 2025 to return to teaching.
After graduating Worcester State University in 2018 with dual degrees in Communication and Spanish, Sam launched his career as an online educator. He quickly rose to become the #1 most-requested Photography teacher on Takelessons.com, enriching hundreds of students and overcoming doubts from teachers who once questioned his creative abilities.
During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Sam pivoted to his longtime passion for film and television. He began working alongside the Casting Director of Titanic casting background actors in various films and TV productions. He rapidly advanced to Extras Casting Director on major productions such as Criminal Minds Evolution, Strays, Harold & the Purple Crayon, and Young Rock. Sam has booked thousands of background actors nationwide and continues to help bring stories to life behind the scenes.

Fun fact: Sam went viral on YouTube at age 12 with his “Spongebob lip dubs,” even catching the attention of Cage the Elephant.
